About Emergency Lighting

The work-place-directive legislation tells us that...

Emergency routes and exists requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate illumination intensity in case the lighting fails.

The guidelines are therefore if normal lighting is required at certain times during hours of darkness, to safely carry out your work, then emergency lighting is also required. So if you have electric lights in your premises then you need emergency lights too!

BS5266 gives recommendations and guidance on the factors that need to be considered in the design and installation of electrical emergency-lighting systems. The design, installation and ongoing maintenance of emergency lighting should be carried out by a competent engineer. One of the easiest ways to demonstrate competence is to use ICEL (Industry Committee or Emergency Lighting) competent engineers.

Emergency Lighting must be tested monthly by the user and serviced annually by a competent person.

We can design, install and maintain, emergency lights and are happy to takeover and maintain existing systems.

As a full-service fire protection company we can offer cost effective servicing charges. If we provide more than one service (e.g. extinguishers and emergency lighting or fire alarm servicing) then a cost-effective maintenance plan can be secured.

We provide all relevant certification for your fire-safety legal requirements.
