FirekeyKeybury Fire & Security has launched a new standalone division, Fire Key, in response to red-hot demand for its non-electronic fire protection services.

The Keighley-based company is headed by long-serving Keybury director David Lalor and has recruited a new engineer, Steven Orange, of Wetherby, specifically to deal with Fire Key work.

He holds industry-recognised qualifications in fire risk assessment, portable appliance testing, emergency light design and maintenance, and fire extinguisher service and maintenance.

David Lalor explained: Fire safety regulations – new and more complex legislation is constantly being introduced – remain a burning issue for many companies, who, since 2006 must by law have a valid fire risk assessment in place in order to meet their legal responsibilities and ensure compliance.

However, there is widespread confusion among businesses as to their actual roles and responsibilities. It’s a minefield – and there’s little wonder so many firms don’t appear to know what they are actually supposed to be doing.

Holding the right qualifications is vital and we have launched Fire Key to help customers break through the bewilderment.

The new division’s remit covers fire risk assessments, portable appliance testing, fire extinguisher supply, fitting and service, and safety signs. On-site staff training is available.

Keybury Fire & Security also has offices in Skipton, Ilkley and Harrogate.
