Regular readers will know, our green journey started many years ago and includes recognition at both local and national awards. Here’s an update on our green journey from our green team.
Our Green Journey
Our green journey is led by Keybury’s green team, including Quality Manager Julie, Ops Manager Paul and Fire Alarm Engineer Stacey and Green Champion Christine.
At Keybury Fire and Security, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. We’re working on this through what we do and how we do it, including by raising awareness across the business. We’ve always been committed to delivering high quality fire and security solutions in an environmentally conscious way.
We’re members of investors in environment, who will audit us on our work. We’re also routinely audited by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI). The NSI don’t only ensure we’re carrying out our design, installation and maintenance work to the highest standard, they also ensure we have the correct management systems in place. NSI recently wrote to us to highlight amendments the the management systems 9001 and 14001 which incorporate climate change considerations in the management system standards with immediate effect.
Our team are ahead of the game here, as we’re already measuring and working to improve our carbon footprint, as well as taking part in environmental training and activities.
Our Green Targets
This year, we’re aiming to reduce our use of electricity, water, paper and how much waste we create as a business by at least 2% compared with last year.
We’ve also got plans for an outdoor team day and an active travel fundraiser for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice this year. We’ll bring details of these events, as well as updates on our green journey to the blog later in the year.
You can read our environmental policy online, and read more about the activities we’ve participated in including sponsoring a bee friendly roundabout and upcycling office equipment on blogs on our website.
