Keybury’s Great Run
Keybury’s own athletes took part in the Great North Run 2019 on Sunday. It was a tremendous event enjoyed by both the runners and the support team. Keybury sent a team of five runners and a whopping 22 supporters to Newcastle. Our runners have been training for several months. Some of them have taken part in other events in the build up the this run. The first event in our calendar was the Keighley Big K back in March. We sponsored this event for the first time and supported the team from Sue Ryder Manorlands Hopsice in promoting the event in our home town. Their hard work culminated in this half marathon; a gruelling 13.1 mile run through Newcastle.
Our Great North Run 2019 Team
Five of our team had volunteered for the Great North Run; Tom, Philip, Anthony, Matt and Niamh. The supporters also took on the challenge of navigating the crowded metro and walking several miles to cheer on the team. It was worth it to watch our runners – and we even got to see Mo Farrah whizzing by. Thank you to our runners, supporters and everyone who has sponsored us. Once again we’re raising much needed funds for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope. We’re now beginning to consider next year’s challenge. Watch this space!
