FacebookWith the clocks due to go back, Keybury Fire & Security is utilising its presence on Facebook to show customers how to reset the keypads on their intruder alarm systems.

Help videos recorded and posted on Facebook by Keybury director David Lalor guide customers in easy-to-follow steps through the process of how to change date and time settings on their keypads.

David said: It’s not rocket science, but we know that many people do find it tricky to make these simple changes and often leave the time and date unaltered all year round.

While it doesn’t affect the operation and efficiency of the alarm system in any way, it is vitally important to have a correct time and date recorded in the event of an activation. There could be insurance implications – for example, proving an alarm was set at the time of a burglary – if the clock is showing the wrong time, he explained.

Keybury is increasingly taking advantage of the social media boom by using its Facebook site to post a series of help and advice videos, along with other information relevant to the security industry and products and services available, including special offers.

As the countdown to the Autumn clocks change continues, Keybury is also warning customers to be on their guard concerning the increased threat of break-ins with the onset of darker nights. Handy hints to help minimise potential risks are also posted on the company’s Facebook pages.

Keybury, with offices in Keighley, Skipton, Ilkley and Harrogate, holds top-tier ‘gold’ installer approval from the industry body, the National Security Inspectorate.
