Keybury GoldOne of the region’s most established security firms has a new name.

Keybury Security Systems, formed in 1982, is renowned for providing the highest levels of protection to homes and businesses across Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, and with offices in Skipton and Ilkley, the company has diversified to offer similar expertise in installing fire alarm systems – and is now called Keybury Fire & Security.

The move comes after the company was awarded a rare Gold rating from the British Approvals for Fire Equipment (BAFE), an organisation dedicated to improving fire protection. Supported by the Government and the Health & Safety Executive, systems endorsed by BAFE are recognised as being of the highest possible standard.

“The fire alarms business has become very highly regulated thanks to changes in the law that have put the onus firmly on employers to provide adequate fire safety at their premises,” explained Frank Gee, Keybury’s managing director.

“Many insurance companies are now insisting their commercial clients use BAFE-approved fire protection systems, but very few fire security companies have a Gold rating. We achieved it rapidly, and it’s testament to our people and their abilities.

“Legally, after deciding it needs a fire detection system, all a company has to do is use a competent provider. But how do you know the one you choose is competent? The only way to be sure is to use somebody who is BAFE-approved, as we are. Any customer – domestic or commercial – who comes to us can be absolutely assured they are receiving the very best advice and service.”

The BAFE rating follows Keybury’s Gold award by the National Security Inspectorate for both its intruder and fire alarm systems.
