Wireless home alarm systems are incredibly popular, and for good reason. TWireless systems work well to protect a variety of settings and offer flexibility of design in particular. There are three main questions people ask us about wireless home alarm systems. Are they reliable? Are they secure? Are they messy?
Here’s the truth.
Are wireless home alarm systems reliable?
If you’ve thought about getting a wireless home alarm system you’ve probably asked yourself this question. It’s usually the first question we get when we talk about wireless home alarm systems. It’s true that dodgy connections and unreliable parts could trigger false alarms. Or worse; a system failing when it’s needed most. Our team always check that a wireless system is the most appropriate option for you and your property. This is one of the reasons we offer a free survey appointment in the first place. It’s much better than fitting something that won’t work.
In some instances, we may recommend a wired system. This is most common in buildings with extremely thick walls, for example the castle we installed a system in last year. Yes, we fit an alarm system in an actual castle. And it’s not the first. You wouldn’t believe the places we secure! Our designers always discuss the option of wired or wireless with you.
There are plenty of cheap and frankly less reliable wireless systems available cheaply on the market. They’re not the type we use. Our standards are higher than that. If you’ve got high standards, you’re in the right place.
Keybury install and maintain police monitored systems. To comply with police standards you can’t have unreliable systems triggering false alarms. We’re NSI GOLD certified (which you can read more about here) giving our customers confidence in the standard of service, equipment, engineering and technical understanding provided by our team. We only use industry approved equipment which undergoes rigorous testing, so you can be confident that wireless home alarm system installed by Keybury is reliable.
A note on maintenance – for reliability
It’s important to maintain your system. We do keep saying it but honestly it’s really true! Our maintenance cover ensures it’s working as it should, whether it’s wired or wireless. Keybury’s maintenance cover includes a full check of your intruder alarm each year to keep your system working reliably.
Are wireless home alarm systems secure?
Some wireless systems are portable. You leave a sensor on a table or the kitchen counter. These aren’t as secure as fixed intruder alarm systems. Our team securely fix the wireless components in place within your property. They cannot be easily moved, and any attempt to tamper with them would trigger an alert within the system.
Wireless systems can sometimes offer more security as they can reach areas which wouldn’t necessary be covered by a traditional wired alarm system. For instance some people add external buildings such as the garage or home office to their wireless home alarm system.
…But are they messy?
In short; no, they don’t have to be! Wireless systems offer the benefit of fewer holes, and remove any need to hide cables, so if you’ve just redecorated they’re certainly worth considering.
We understand that it can be stressful when people are working in your house. Whilst tradespeople can sometimes leave mess and rubbish behind, furniture pulled out of place and mud on the new carpet, you won’t find that with Keybury. Our team are completely different. Shoe covers and a Henry Hoover are essential items in every Keybury engineer’s toolkit; in fact our customers comment on how clean and tidy we leave their property following installation work.
All in all, wireless home alarm systems offer a reliable secure option to protect your home.
