Audible Only
An Audible only intruder alarm system is also called a “bells only” system. Essentially, if the alarm is activated it will ring the bells, audibly alerting anyone nearby to the activation. The benefits of this type of system are that when it’s activated it’s likely to cause an intruder to scarper, and to get the neighbours curtains twitching. If you were at home, for example during the night, you’d be awoken and could take action.
An audible system with an alarm box (known as a ‘bell box‘) on the outside of your house is a brilliant deterrent. In fact, 60% of convicted burglars said that if they found a burglar alarm at a property, they would seek an alternative target. Keybury Fire and Security offer annual maintenance cover to keep this type of system in tip top condition and give you the support you need, when you need it.
If this sounds like peace of mind to you, opt for an audible only intruder alarm system. If you’re looking for a little more, read on.
Smart Solution
The smart solution for home security is an app monitored intruder alarm. It offers a connected experience with remote functions and in-your-pocket notifications to anything untoward. A smart system offers all the benefits of an audible system plus lots of extras. Firstly, the system can push information directly to your device, giving you realtime notifications of events. Get alerts when the system is switched on and off, and crucially, if it’s activated.
Similarly you can push information back to the alarm system. Toggle areas on and off, so if you’re dog sitting and want to leave the pup in the kitchen, you can temporarily deactivate the kitchen sensor. You can also remotely switch the system on and off (ideal when you’ve got people working in your house, forgetful teenagers or just a hectic lifestyle!).
Looking for external monitoring? Read on.
Monitored System
Monitored alarm systems take your security to the next level. They offer External Monitoring by Alarm Receiving Centre. In the event of an activation, the intruder alarm sends signals to the alarm receiving centre (ARC). Depending on your level of monitoring, nominated keyholders can be contacted by the ARC, of in the event of a confirmed alarm, police forces are notified. Only police compliant, insurance approved security companies such as Keybury Fire and Security can offer this level of monitoring for intruder alarm systems.
Monitored Intruder alarms receive regular system checks as well as telephone support with Keybury Maintenance Cover, giving you the ultimate peace of mind.
